Artifact #1- Language/reading timeline
This artifact is the slide that I made for the language/ reading timeline. We had to choose whether to do a language development or reading, as shown I did reading from when a child is born to age 5. My artifact shows the different stages a child should be doing for reading, for example at age 3 a child should be able to sing the alphabet song.
I choose my reading development for this standard because by doing my research I, the teacher have learned how a student will be learning and developing how to read. Within each age there is multiple examples of what would expected for a child at the age, not just with reading but also with cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical areas. All those areas also contribute to how a student would be doing while learning to read. This timeline demonstrates how I now know how my students could be developing in my classroom. I also have taken into consideration that every student learns at a different pace so these are just some simple examples and they can be flexible around any age.
