Q: Write using the words cat, window and button
My neighbor had this big black cat that would sit in the window across the street from me. Every day when I would go out to wait for the bus, I would see the cat. I would come up with different names for the cat and see if he would move off of the window when I called the names. He never did move for me, he just sat there and looked as if he was protecting the house, and the neighborhood. Till one day after months of seeing this cat, I was doing my normal routine, heading down for the bus when I noticed that the cat was not sitting in the window. The window was also open! I just stopped and thought to myself that it was fine, that the cat was probably an outdoor cat. But then the thought that the cat has been sitting there in the same spot for months with the window closed made me think he shouldn’t be outside! I ran back up my driveway and grabbed my coat and buttoned it up. I needed to go check out around the house to see if I could find the cat. Once again I was calling out different names and there was no cat to be found. I could hear my mom yelling “Get back over here! Your bus is coming!” When I saw the big black cat that should be sitting in the window. I rushed over to the side of the house and grabbed the cat. Without hesitation, I read the name that was on the little tag around its neck, Button. The cat’s name was a button. I never once called out that name I thought to myself. I was walking back to the front of the house when I could see my bus pull up, I rushed to the front door and rang the doorbell. A small little old woman opened the door and yelled “Button! Why were you outside!” And then I told the women everything and how I always see the cat and knew something was wrong, and went looking for him.
